Haley Sharpe Design (hsd) is a leading museum design agency. Established over 36 years ago, the practice has designed and delivered over 500 exhibitions globally always incorporating Universal Design principles and working collaboratively with internationally renowned cultural and heritage institutions in the process. Our varied portfolio includes exhibition design, master planning, feasibility assessments, and interpretive planning in museums, heritage sites, cities, public parks, archives and visitor centres. As a leading master planning and design agency, we have an excellent track record of providing highly creative and supportive teams to efficiently development unique projects from ideation all the way through to completion.
Comprising a multidisciplinary team with backgrounds in museology, interpretation, humanities, design, media, and architecture, hsd can respond to any direction a project may take and the varied needs of the cultural sector. The studio enjoys direct access to our industry-leading partners, whose hands-on approach means that projects benefit from their knowledge and participation. From our offices in Toronto, Leicester (UK) and South Africa, we have helped hundreds of cultural institutions bring their projects to fruition by offering creative design, strategic vision and specialized expertise in the field.
Our design philosophy is a collaborative one based on working with our clients throughout the design process and project development. We seek effectiveness in creating compelling experiences combining academic integrity, aesthetic elegance and visitor enjoyment. We respond to the unique circumstances, goals and objectives of each of our clients by prioritizing communication and collaboration. We are committed to building positive long-lasting working relationships to ultimately create unique and rich cultural experiences accessible to all.
We are well-versed in what it takes to develop accessible, fresh, sustainable, and accurate projects supported by a dedicated core design team of experts with flexible and reliable studio support. Our tested approach to several large-scale projects is to remain responsive to client needs during the planning and design phases.
As a multi-disciplinary team, we have developed a coordinated design approach that integrates master planning with three-dimensional interior design, two-dimensional graphics, information systems, interactivity and multimedia.
hsd has helped many cultural institutions address the need to change and develop a novel approach to keep themselves vibrant, in-tune with their community and thrive financially.
